Christmas Isn’t Just About the Kids

prolog October 25, 2013

Christmas is one of the most stressful times of year for parents, and many dread the pressure to keep their children happy and provide them with the gifts they asked Santa for. The truth is though, that the build-up before Christmas is a time for parents to celebrate too. Work Christmas parties are in full swing, and it’s a chance to let your hair down after a hard year’s work. With that in mind, why not arrange some fun for you and your friends before the real stress starts to kick in?

A Day at the Races

For a bit of pre-Christmas excitement, a day at the races can be a really good way to let your hair down. It gives you the chance to dress up, have a few drinks and you could even win enough money to pay for all those Christmas presents. If you go in a group it’s always much more fun, or you could even make it a couple’s day out.

Comedy Carnival

To inject a bit of Christmas cheer, you could head down to London for a Christmas party in Leicester Square or Clapham at the Comedy Carnival event held at each location. Previous acts include Jack Whitehall, Michael McIntyre and Sarah Millican, and with that kind of comedy calibre, you know it’s going to be a fun night.

Country Retreat Spa Day

If you feel like you need a day of relaxation before the chaos of Christmas comes around, you could book a country retreat spa day for you and a few friends. You can indulge in a facial to get glowing skin before the party season, and you’ll be able to enjoy saunas, steam rooms and mud baths to ensure you leave feeling pampered and prepared for Christmas.

Ice Skating and German Market

To really get into the Christmas spirit, plan an evening of ice skating followed by food and drinks at a German Christmas market. Not only will you feel Christmassy, but you might even be able to do some early present shopping whilst you’re at it.  A lot of markets have a German band and serve steins to create a lively, buzzing and fun atmosphere, so it’s a great idea if you’re looking for a fun, wintery and festive night out.

So, leave the kids with their grandparents and go enjoy some pre-Christmas celebrations, you deserve it.
